Farewell Party Celebration
By Ravi Kummar
Jamnagar, September 12, 2014
The much awaited evening of 11th September was
a memorable one as students and teachers bid farewell to the outgoing batch of
class XII students. The ceremony commenced on an auspicious note with the
recital of scriptures from the Gita, the Quran, the Bible and the Guru Granth
Sahib.
The cultural programme began with the tikka ceremony wherein the teachers blessed the class XII students and wished them luck for the future. The honourable Principal in-charge Shri Mithan Lal also encouraged and motivated the class XII students and wished them luck for the future. He was followed by the students of class XI who set the mood for the evening by singing a medley of songs. The most eagerly awaited event of the evening was the variety of titles that were awarded to some of the students. Head Girl and Head Boy, Shweta Rathod and Master Vipul received the coveted title of “Miss Perfectionist” and “the Godfather”. Some other titles were “Prima Ballerina”, Sugar and Spice, Roop Ki Rani (s) and Pablo Picassa etc.
To add to everyone’s delight a colourful dance
extravaganza was presented by the students of class XI who performed on the
latest Bollywood song and a musical called “flashback”. While these dances
earned a thundering applause, it was the boarders who stole the show with their
perfectly coordinated steps that had everyone performing to their beats. The
programme came to a close with the lighting of the candles which was the most
significant part of the evening. It was indeed a mesmerizing sight as the
students raised their candles to the school anthem.
Later everybody proceeded for high tea and snacks and danced to DJ’s music. Thus, an enchanting evening culminated and with it both happiness and nostalgia crept into each one on the campus.

Report
on PM Modi’s interaction with students and teachers on teachers day:
PM
Modi’s Interaction with Students and Teachers on Teachers Day
By
Ashish
Jamnagar, September
5, 2014: On Teachers day PM Narendra Modi spent an hour and 45 minutes with
many of the school children in Delhi. Almost every government and private
school in the country interacted directly with the PM Modi live on TV, internet
etc. The whole interaction was conducted at the Manekshaw Centre, New Delhi.
Even in Doon Public School. Students collected to watch the whole interaction
enthusiastically. They were keen to get the answer for their common question
and difficulties they are facing in daily life in their academics.
The following points were discussed on that day i.e. the teachers must share an important bond with the students and student must share moments of their lives with the teachers .Quality education should be imparted to the students. Along with the educational degree, youth should be provided with the practical skill , knowledge and training . Education of a girl child should be mandatory. Apart from all that he also discussed that there should be some provision for saving electricity based on this a boy from Delhi ,asked PM,” You ask people to save electricity , what do you expect from us and what we can we do .” Apart from this he also said that students must inculcate the habit of reading books. He also emphasized on the use of science and technology in the education system.
One more discussion was also held to resolve the issue based on making washrooms available especially for girls, which in turn will solve the problem of sending a girl to school beyond primary level. Last but not the least PM also replied that politics should not be considered as a profession, but it should be considered as the responsibility. To conclude, I must say that it was a nice experience for students as well as teachers to have a healthy discussion on the important issue, which dealt with the problems in their academics. At the same time a teacher got the opportunity to understand and solve the problems related to the students of all levels, and is able to overcome the difficulties based on individual differences in classroom.
